Contact with animals has been shown to significantly improve childrens' mental health - so much so that therapy animals are increasingly being used to help children with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression and recovery from trauma, autism spectrum disorders and ADHD.

I was one of the first therapists in the UK to introduce what's known as Animal Assisted Therapy back in 2010, with my first trained therapy dog, Tilly.  She was able to join me when I saw children - both in the NHS and in my private practice.

In today's video I'm joined by Bertha, my current therapy dog, and I talk all about the benefits to children of contact with animals. I hope you find value in it.

Warmest wishes
