Welcome to Part 11 of my mini-series exploring possible causes for the sharp increase in the numbers of children and young people experiencing mental health concerns in recent years. 

In this final episode of the series, I want to explore the subject of pressure to succeed.

There are several factors that suggest that children and teens many be under more pressure to succeed than ever before - whether this 'success' is in terms of things like academic achievements, popularity, the way they look, or what material possessions they have. Whilst there can be positive effects of this type of pressure, there are also many negative effects - especially when it comes to mental health.
