How Bereavement Affects Children

Mar 18, 2022
The loss of a parent, sibling, other close family member, special friend or even a teacher they were particularly fond of, can be a devastating experience for a child.
It used to be thought that children did not feel loss as deeply as adults, but although their response can be different from adults, we now know that they grieve as painfully and for at least as long.
In this week's video - the first in a mini-series on bereavement, I share some insights about the kinds of reactions children can have when someone close to them dies, and how this is also related to the nature of the person's death.
I hope you find it useful.
Warmest wishes
