Is Your Child Emotionally Intelligent?

Graphic showing a brain and heart merged to illustrate the qualities of emotional intelligence

Do you ever find yourself wishing that your child could just do something with ease, that you know would make their life (or yours!) less stressful?

So many times our time as busy parents is spent listening to, or witnessing, our childrens' struggles with life, and thinking to ourselves "if only they could just ..........(fill in the blank for your child) this wouldn't be a problem!"

Let me share some examples from my therapy practice:

ðŸ˜Ą Stop getting so angry
😔 Not be so sensitive
ðŸĪŠ Ignore it when their brother or sister tries to wind them up
😎 Overcome their fear and be braver
🙇‍♀ïļ Concentrate better at school
👎 Make friends more easily
ðŸ˜Ŧ Stop having meltdowns
😭 Let me leave them at school in the morning without crying
🙍ðŸŧ Stand up to that kid that bullies them
ðŸ˜ī Get to sleep on their own at night

The list could be longer, but I'm sure you get the idea!

In this week's video I explain how a child's emotional intelligence is at the root of these struggles (and many more) and share details of our forthcoming workshop, in which I teach some effective strategies you can use to increase your child's emotional intelligence.

I hope you find it helpful.

Warmest wishes
